A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Papua in eastern Indonesia on Tuesday morning, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake occurred 193 kilometers northwest of Abepura town. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center confirmed there was no tsunami threat.

No casualties or damage reports have been received. Indonesia frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where tectonic plates meet.
