French police arrested 79 individuals overnight from Sunday to Monday during celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain’s European title win. According to the Paris police chief, those arrested were “individuals driven by malicious intent and not true supporters” of the capital’s football club.
This follows the arrest of 563 people from Saturday night to Sunday, including 491 in Paris, leading to the detention of 307 individuals.
More than 100,000 fans celebrated the team’s return on the Champs-Élysées on Sunday, with festivities concluding at the Parc des Princes stadium.
