The president of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, Minister Carmen Lucia, called on voters to head to the polls on Sunday for the second round of municipal elections.
Voters from 15 capitals and 36 municipalities return to the polls to elect mayors who are running for office. A total of 33.9 million voters are eligible to vote.
All eyes will be on the capital, São Paulo, where more than 15.6 million voters are heading to the polls to choose a mayor
São Paulo is home to around 60 per cent of these voters.
On 6 October, Brazil held the current round of local elections, with preliminary results in several states still undecided.
