Argentine President Javier Miley sacked Foreign Minister Diana Mondino on Wednesday, hours after the country voted at the United Nations General Assembly in favour of lifting the US economic embargo on Cuba.
Diana Mundino was replaced by Argentina’s ambassador to the United States, Gerardo Werthin, Miley’s spokesman Manuel Adorni said on his Xbox account.
Adorni did not elaborate on the reasons for her replacement, but the announcement came hours after Argentina voted to end the embargo against Cuba.
On Wednesday, 187 countries, including Argentina, voted in favour of a UN resolution condemning the US embargo on Cuba, with only the US and Israel voting against.
