The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced on Monday that it will open an external investigation into chief prosecutor Karim Khan over allegations of sexual misconduct.

The court stated that “an external investigation is currently underway to ensure an independent and fair process,” urging full cooperation from all parties.

Khan has denied the allegations, claiming they are part of a disinformation campaign against his office.

These accusations arise as ICC judges consider Khan’s request from May to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Hamas leaders.
