Ten people were killed and 30 others injured on Wednesday morning after a vehicle ploughed into a large crowd in New Orleans, USA.

The city’s official emergency management agency, NOLA Ready, reported a “mass casualty incident involving a vehicle that ploughed into a large crowd at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon Streets”.

CBS News quoted witnesses as saying that a truck ploughed into the crowd at high speed, then the driver got out and started shooting, and police responded with gunfire.

The agency noted that New Orleans Emergency Medical Services reported 30 injuries and 10 deaths..
