The Vatican announced that Pope Francis’s health has deteriorated over the past 24 hours, and he is in critical condition, having suffered from a “respiratory crisis” and requiring a blood transfusion.
On Saturday, the Vatican stated: “This morning, the Pope faced a chronic respiratory crisis that also required the use of high-flow oxygen.”
The Pope was admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14 after experiencing breathing difficulties. The Vatican is closely monitoring his condition while he receives treatment.
