Ursula von der Leyen Arrives in Kyiv with New Aid Package on Anniversary of Russian War

Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv by train on Monday to mark the third anniversary of the Russian war against Ukraine, amid European concerns over Donald Trump’s push for negotiations.

The European Commission President is expected to unveil a financial aid package worth €3.5 billion to bolster Ukraine’s strained budget and facilitate the purchase of European-made military equipment.

This amount serves as an advance for a larger €50 billion aid fund established by the EU in early 2024.
