Syrian National Dialogue Conference calls for Israel’s withdrawal and for weapons to be confined to the state.

The Syrian National Dialogue Conference on Tuesday called for Israel’s withdrawal from the country’s territory in its final statement, affirming the unity of the country’s territory and rejecting its fragmentation.

The conference also stressed the need to limit arms to the state and to consider armed formations outside official institutions as outlawed groups.

This was stated in a final statement read out to the participants of the conference, which was held at the Shaab Presidential Palace in Damascus in the presence of President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The conference reaffirmed the preservation of the unity and sovereignty of the state over all its territories and the rejection of its fragmentation, stressing the restriction of arms to the state, the establishment of a professional national army and considering all armed formations outside the official institutions as outlawed groups.

It condemned Israel’s incursion into Syrian territory and demanded its immediate withdrawal.

It also decided to form a committee to draft a permanent constitution that would establish a balance between powers, the values of justice, freedom and equality, and a state of law and institutions.
