A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck an area 25 kilometers north-northeast of the city of Awash in Ethiopia on Wednesday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake struck at 53:02 a.m. local time at the confluence of 9.199 degrees north latitude and 40.236 degrees east longitude at a depth of 10 kilometers below the surface.
There have been no reports of material damage or human casualties as a result of the earthquake.
