The Lebanese government led by Nawaf Salam has won the confidence of the Lebanese parliament with 95 votes in favour.

The vote of confidence in the Lebanese parliament began early Wednesday evening, with 95 out of 128 MPs voting in favour of President Nawaf Salam’s government.

For the second day in a row, the Lebanese parliament held sessions to discuss the ministerial statement in preparation for a vote of confidence in the government of Nawaf Salam, following two morning and evening sessions on Tuesday.

At the end of the confidence vote, Salam reaffirmed the Lebanese government’s commitment to mobilising Arab and international support to force Israel to stop its violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
