Talks between Russian and US delegations on normalising relations between the two countries, which lasted for 6 and a half hours, ended on Thursday evening at the US Consulate General.

The meeting, which discussed the resumption of the work of the two countries’ embassies, began at 09:50 am at the US Consulate headquarters in the Arnavutkoy district of Istanbul, and ended at 16:20 am. After the meeting,

the Russian delegation left the US consulate in Istanbul, and no official statement was issued about the details of the meeting.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said earlier: “Our diplomats will discuss with the systemic issues that accumulated during the previous administration. These issues are related to the factors that hinder the work of embassies.”
