Avalanche in India Leaves 25 Missing as Search Efforts Continue

Authorities reported that at least 25 people were missing after an avalanche struck Uttarakhand state in the Himalayas, India.

The avalanche was triggered by snowstorms on Friday, near a highway in the Chamoli district, adjacent to Tibet.

The avalanche hit a work site belonging to the Border Roads Organization. The Chamoli district director confirmed that at least 32 workers had been rescued, with no injuries reported.
