Arab and international attention is focused on the emergency summit, which will discuss an ‘Arab plan’ to rebuild the Gaza Strip without displacing its inhabitants.
In his first visit to Egypt since taking office, Syrian interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived in Cairo to attend the emergency Arab summit, according to the Syrian News Agency.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun travelled to Cairo from Riyadh to attend the summit, accompanied by Foreign and Expatriates Minister Youssef Rji.
According to the agenda of the emergency summit sent by the Egyptian Permanent Delegation to the Arab League Secretariat, the opening session is scheduled to start at 4:30 pm Cairo time, followed by a Ramadan Iftar banquet in honour of the participating delegations, followed by a closed session and a closing session.
According to the schedule, the Summit will end at 20:30 with the announcement of the final communiqué and agreed resolutions.
