On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump warned of increasing tariffs on Canadian goods if Ottawa retaliates. Trump said on “Truth Social” that if Canada imposes retaliatory tariffs, the US will match them.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed readiness for a trade war with the US to reach an agreement. He also stated that Trump will face the political consequences of the tariffs in the midterm elections.

Ford added that his government would cancel a $100 million contract with SpaceX’s Starlink.
