Germany Announces Additional Aid of €300 Million to Support Syria

Following Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shibani’s visit to Brussels, Germany announced it would provide an additional €300 million in aid to support Syrians through the United Nations and international organizations.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock confirmed that more than half of the aid will be allocated to people inside Syria without coordinating with the transitional government in Damascus.

The aid includes the provision of food, health services, and emergency shelter, in addition to supporting Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Turkey.
