Palestinian Health Minister Mai Alkaila announced today, Wednesday, that over half of Gaza’s hospitals have become non-operational due to the ongoing aggression, fuel and electricity shortages.
During a press conference, the Minister stated that 18 hospitals in Gaza are no longer in service, out of a total of 35 hospitals.
This coincides with a significant displacement of Gaza’s residents on foot within the besieged territory, from the north to the south. United Nations estimates indicate that around 1.5 million Palestinians, out of a total population of 2.4 million, have been compelled to move, facing catastrophic conditions, with no adequate places to accommodate them and severe overcrowding in shelter centers.
In a parallel context, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized the rejection of the idea of forcibly relocating Palestinians from Gaza at any stage and stressed the imperative of not reoccupying Gaza or reducing its territory after the conflict concludes.
