Rapid Support Forces Commander Confirms Withdrawal from Khartoum After Army Regains Control

Rapid Support Forces Commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemeti) confirmed on Sunday that his forces have withdrawn from Khartoum, following the Sudanese army’s announcement on Thursday of regaining full control of the city.

The army launched a strong counter-offensive last November, advancing toward the capital and reclaiming the presidential palace, the airport, and other strategic sites.

Meanwhile, Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan vowed that his forces would “fight until victory,” ruling out peace with the Rapid Support Forces unless they surrendered their weapons.

The war has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 12 million people, effectively dividing the country into two parts.
