Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron signed a joint declaration on Monday to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership, during an official ceremony held at Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo.
According to state-run Egyptian television and the official Middle East News Agency (MENA), the declaration was signed as part of Macron’s official visit to Egypt, which aims to bolster cooperation in political, economic, defense, and cultural fields.
The new agreement lays the foundation for enhanced coordination between Cairo and Paris on regional security, counterterrorism, investment, and technological collaboration, in addition to deepening political consultation in international forums.
This move comes amid rapidly evolving regional and global dynamics, as both Egypt and France seek to strengthen bilateral alliances that serve mutual interests and contribute to stability in the Middle East and North Africa.
