The Iraqi government announced on Wednesday, that the country’s next parliamentary elections will be held on November 11, marking a critical milestone in Iraq’s political transition and efforts to restore democratic legitimacy.
The decision was made during an official cabinet meeting, where the election timeline was approved in coordination with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), following extensive consultations among political factions and constitutional authorities.
In its statement, the government affirmed that “holding elections on time reflects a commitment to constitutional obligations and responds to the Iraqi people’s aspirations for institutional renewal and stability.”
