An international conference is being held in London today to discuss the developments of the civil war in Sudan and ways to assist the population suffering from violence, displacement, and famine.
The conference is sponsored by the European Union and the African Union, with slim hopes of resolving the conflict that has entered its second year.
Delegations from Western countries and representatives from international organizations are participating in the event, with no representatives from the Sudanese army or the Rapid Support Forces present.
