Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani departed Doha on Thursday, heading to Moscow for an official visit, according to a statement issued by the Amiri Diwan.
The statement noted that Sheikh Tamim will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and explore ways to strengthen and expand cooperation across various fields. The leaders will also address key regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The Emir is accompanied by an official delegation that includes Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the visit will involve in-depth discussions on a range of pressing regional and global issues, with a particular focus on enhancing political coordination to achieve comprehensive solutions to ongoing challenges.
