Abbas Araghchi Expresses Readiness to Visit Paris, Berlin, and London to Revive Nuclear Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed his readiness to visit France, Germany, and the United Kingdom as part of efforts to revive nuclear negotiations. Following consultations in Moscow and Beijing, Araghchi emphasized that the ball is now in the court of the three European countries, which were signatories to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) set to expire in October.

Araghchi stated that Iran is prepared to take initial steps toward these visits, noting that “upcoming joint steps could shape the foreseeable future.” These remarks come amid renewed indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States in Rome, mediated by Oman, following previous rounds in Muscat.

It’s noteworthy that the United States, led by special envoy Steve Witkoff, has resumed talks with Iran, sidelining the traditional role of European countries in this matter. This approach has drawn criticism from European diplomats, who argue that their exclusion may undermine the chances of reaching an effective agreement.
