U.S. and Iran Hold Third Round of Nuclear Talks Today in Muscat

Iran and the United States are set to begin their third round of nuclear negotiations today, Saturday, in Muscat, Oman, under Omani mediation, according to Iranian state television. The talks are scheduled to start at 08:30 GMT.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in the Omani capital as part of ongoing efforts to revive nuclear discussions.

The U.S. State Department confirmed on Thursday that Witkoff would participate in the new round of talks, adding that Michael Anton, the department’s Director of Policy Planning, is leading the parallel technical negotiations.

This round follows a meeting in Rome last weekend, where both sides agreed to continue the dialogue in an attempt to address outstanding issues.

Today’s discussions are expected to focus primarily on Iran’s uranium enrichment activities, amid international efforts to reduce tensions and ensure the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
