Iran Announces Fourth Round of Nuclear Talks with U.S. to Be Held in Rome on May 3

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Wednesday that the fourth round of negotiations with the United States over Tehran’s nuclear program will be held in Rome on May 3, as decided by the Sultanate of Oman, which is hosting the broader mediation process.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Araghchi stated that Iran will first hold preparatory discussions with the **European signatories of the nuclear deal—France, the United Kingdom, and Germany—**before engaging in direct talks with Washington.

“The location of the talks is not a major issue or worth wasting time on,” Araghchi said, emphasizing that “the host country, Oman, determines the venue. What matters is the substance and progress of the negotiations.”

The third round of talks between Iran and the United States was previously held in Oman, while the second round took place in Rome, signaling flexibility among parties regarding the venue as long as dialogue advances constructively.
