Flights to Europe will resume on 31 January, the head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Hossein Pourfarzaneh, has announced.
The first flight will be from Tehran to the French capital, Paris, the official IRNA news agency reported on Monday.
The inaugural flight will be made by a plane belonging to Iran Air Tours, the Iranian official said.
On 14 October, the European Union imposed sanctions on certain individuals and entities, including Iranian airlines, on the pretext of transferring drones and missiles from Iran to Russia.
The next day, the spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Jafar Yazarloo, announced that Iranian airlines had cancelled flights to European countries.
