The U.S. Department of Defense announced on Wednesday that it has formally accepted a Boeing 747 aircraft donated by the State of Qatar, officially registering it as part of the U.S. government’s assets.
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed in a statement that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth accepted the aircraft in accordance with all federal rules and regulations.
“The Department of Defense will take all necessary steps to ensure the aircraft meets operational safety requirements and appropriate security protocols, as it is designated for transporting the President of the United States,” Parnell added.
Pentagon officials indicated that the aircraft, valued at approximately $200 million, will require comprehensive inspections and specialized modifications to meet the stringent safety and communication standards required for presidential transport—intended for current President Donald Trump.
