Yemen’s Houthis Claim Hypersonic Missile Strike Targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Retaliatory Airstrike

Yemen’s Houthi movement announced Thursday evening that it had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, marking its first declared retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on Sana’a International Airport.

In a statement released by the group, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the missile strike “successfully hit its intended target,” forcing flight operations at the airport to halt and sending “millions of Israelis into bomb shelters.”

Saree described the attack as a direct response to what he called “the Zionist enemy’s aggression against Sana’a Airport,” and as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza. He added that the operation was intended as “a victory for the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance against ongoing genocide.”

There has been no immediate confirmation from Israeli authorities regarding the strike or any resulting damage.
