British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday that the situation in Gaza is “worsening day by day” and stressed the urgent need to ensure that the Palestinian enclave receives more humanitarian aid.

Speaking to reporters in Scotland, Starmer was asked whether the UK would take any action on the issue. He responded:
“The situation in Gaza is intolerable and is getting worse day by day.”

He added:“That’s why we are working with our allies… to make absolutely sure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza quickly and in sufficient quantities, as the current levels are not enough and are causing massive devastation.”

On May 20, the British government summoned Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely in response to the expansion of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
