Israeli forces carried out artillery strikes on the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa province in southern Syria on Tuesday, following claims that two rockets were launched from the region toward the occupied Golan Heights.
According to Syria’s official news agency SANA, the shelling targeted the Yarmouk Basin near the Israeli border, though no immediate details were provided regarding casualties or damage.
Earlier in the day, Israeli media reported that two rockets were fired from the city of Daraa, landing in an open area within the Golan Heights. No injuries or structural damage were reported.
The incident comes amid rising tensions along the Israeli-Syrian frontier. The Syrian government has not yet issued an official response to either the alleged rocket fire or the subsequent Israeli shelling.
