On Tuesday, Iran announced the execution of 9 ISIS members after they were convicted of planning terrorist attacks in the country in 2018.

Authorities confirmed that the sentences were upheld by the Iranian Supreme Court, stating that the nine individuals “planned to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians in Iran.”

The suspects were arrested following a deadly clash with the Revolutionary Guard in western Iran in January 2018.
