Iran Closes Isfahan Highway Following Israeli Strike on Natanz Nuclear Facility

Iranian authorities announced the closure of the main highway connecting the cities of Qom and Isfahan on Friday, following Israeli airstrikes that targeted the Natanz nuclear facility earlier in the day.

According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Traffic Police Chief Seyed Teymour Hosseini confirmed the closure of the highway near the nuclear site, stating it would remain shut “until further notice” as a precautionary measure.

Hosseini added that additional updates regarding the status of the highway would be provided in due course.

The closure comes in the aftermath of Israel’s wide-scale military operation launched early Friday, dubbed “Rising Lion,” which targeted multiple nuclear and military sites across Iran and resulted in the deaths of several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists. The attack marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two countries.
