Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed holding a third round of peace talks with Russia next week, as both sides continue efforts to implement agreements reached during their last meeting in Istanbul.
In a statement posted on his official Telegram account on Saturday, Zelensky confirmed that negotiations with Russia on a new prisoner exchange are actively underway. “We are continuing to implement the understandings reached in our recent meeting in Istanbul, and our team is currently working on another exchange operation,” he wrote.
The Ukrainian president also noted that former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has delivered a formal proposal to Russian officials to convene the third round of negotiations next week. Details on the proposed date or location were not disclosed.
