Morocco’s women’s national team booked a spot in the final of the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after defeating Ghana 4–2 on penalties in a tense semifinal held Tuesday night in Rabat.
The match ended 1–1 after extra time, pushing the contest to a penalty shootout where the Atlas Lionesses prevailed in front of a passionate home crowd at the Olympic Stadium.
This marks Morocco’s second consecutive appearance in the tournament final. They will face Nigeria—who knocked out defending champions South Africa—in the final match set for Friday, July 26, at the same venue.
The final promises a thrilling showdown between two of Africa’s top women’s teams as Morocco aims for a historic continental title on home soil.
