The Freedom Flotilla Coalition announced Thursday that all contact has been lost with the “Handala” ship, which had set sail in an attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade on Gaza.
In a statement shared on its Telegram channel, the coalition said no communication has been received from the 21 activists on board. It also reported the presence of numerous drones in the vicinity of the vessel, suggesting a possible interception or attack.
The coalition urged supporters to pressure their governments and media outlets to demand safe passage for the ship and to hold Israel accountable for any interference.
“Handala” departed from Syracuse, Italy, on July 13, stopped briefly in Gallipoli on July 15 for technical repairs, and resumed its course toward Gaza on July 20.
