The Pakistani military announced on Thursday that three soldiers and four militants were killed in a roadside bomb attack in the southwestern province of Balochistan.
According to a statement cited by Radio Pakistan, militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a military vehicle, resulting in the deaths of three security personnel. A subsequent exchange of fire led to the killing of four militants.
The incident underscores the persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where armed groups have waged a low-level insurgency for years. Pakistan’s security forces continue operations in the region to dismantle militant networks and restore stability, particularly in the rugged, mountainous areas near the border.
