Dutch Foreign Minister Kasper Veldkamp resigned on Friday after failing to convince the country’s caretaker coalition government to impose additional sanctions on Israel over its ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Local media reported that Veldkamp’s decision followed internal disagreements within the government on how to respond to the escalating situation in Gaza, where Israel faces mounting international criticism for its military operations.
His resignation comes amid growing debate across Europe on policies toward the conflict and increasing calls for stronger measures against Israel.
