Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa escaped unharmed after his motorcade came under gunfire during protests over rising diesel prices, Environment Minister Inés Manzano said on Tuesday.

“About 500 people appeared and began throwing stones at the president’s convoy, and there are bullet marks on his car,” Manzano stated. She added, “Thank God, our president is very strong and courageous. He continues to carry out his schedule as usual.”
