Tunisia and Algeria have signed a defense cooperation agreement covering training, capacity-building, intelligence sharing, and joint efforts to secure their borders.
The agreement coincides with Tunisian Defense Minister Khaled Sahli’s visit to Algeria from October 6 to 8, during which he met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Defense Minister Said Chengriha.
Tunisia’s Ministry of Defense stated that the new accord “complements a 2001 agreement, making it more comprehensive, meeting the aspirations of both parties, strengthening the strategic partnership based on mutual trust and respect, and opening broader avenues for bilateral cooperation to address regional challenges and risks.”
