Qatar has secured a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the second time in its history, following a 2-1 win against the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday in the Asian qualifiers’ playoff Group A finale.

The match took place at Doha’s Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

This marks Qatar’s first qualification through the qualifying rounds after participating in the 2022 World Cup as hosts, a historic achievement for this generation that also won back-to-back AFC Asian Cup titles in 2019 and 2023.
