Fifteen civilians were killed and dozens more injured in new clashes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, Afghan officials told AFP on Wednesday.
The fighting erupted overnight in the Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan, involving mortar shelling that resulted in the deaths of 15 civilians, according to the district’s media office spokesperson, Ali Mohammad Haqmal.
Abdul Jan Barak, a local hospital official, confirmed the casualties and reported that more than 80 women and children were also injured in the clashes.
