The European Union announced on Wednesday the signing of a €75 million support package for Egypt during a summit in Brussels.

The grant aims to bolster economic and social development, improve access to education, healthcare, and water, and support women and youth.

Part of a broader €7.4 billion program running through 2027, the deal comes despite European concerns over Egypt’s human rights record and its role in migration control and Gaza stabilization efforts.
