Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris has called on international organizations to intervene urgently to protect civilians in El-Fasher, after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) declared full control of the city.
Idris described the situation as “ethnic cleansing and war crimes,” while the Sudanese Doctors Network accused the RSF of killing civilians and looting hospitals.
The governor of Darfur demanded an independent investigation, as Washington called for the opening of humanitarian corridors.
The escalation follows a siege that lasted more than a year, leaving thousands dead and millions displaced.
