Italy’s Jannik Sinner returned to the top of the ATP world rankings on Monday, overtaking Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz just one day after capturing the Paris Masters 1000 title.
Sinner’s rise back to No. 1 sets the stage for a highly anticipated showdown between the two rivals at the ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled from November 9 to 16.
The Paris Masters also finalized three more spots for the year-end championship. Americans Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz, along with Australia’s Alex de Minaur, secured their places alongside Alcaraz, Sinner, Germany’s Alexander Zverev, and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
The final qualifying spot will be decided this week between Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime and Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti. With Auger-Aliassime withdrawing from the Metz tournament, Musetti now holds the advantage as he competes in Athens (ATP 250).
