Congolese Forces Retake Towns from Armed Groups in Eastern DRC

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo announced the recapture of several towns in the eastern region that had fallen to armed groups.

The forces reported that some of these towns, including Ngungu in the Masisi territory, had been under rebel control for months.

Additional towns in South Kivu province have also been reclaimed. Despite these military successes, the region continues to suffer from ongoing conflict due to the M23 rebellion.
