The defense team of Ennahda party leader Rached Ghannouchi announced he has begun an open-ended hunger strike in solidarity with political activist Jouhar Ben Mbarek, detained in the “plot against state security” case.

Ben Mbarek’s family also joined the protest, while Amnesty International voiced concern over his deteriorating health after more than ten days without food or medicine, calling for the release of all political detainees.
