Russia has circulated to UN Security Council members an alternative draft resolution on Gaza, positioning it against the U.S.-backed proposal. The Russian text makes no reference to the creation of a “Peace Council” or the immediate deployment of an international force, elements highlighted in the American draft.
The Russian version merely acknowledges the “initiative that led to the ceasefire,” without naming any parties or mentioning the U.S. president. It also requests that the UN Secretary-General outline “options for implementing the peace plan” and submit a prompt report detailing possible approaches for deploying an international stabilization force in Gaza.
