The UN Security Council on Monday adopted a U.S.-drafted resolution backing former President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, which includes deploying an international force and establishing a pathway toward a Palestinian state.
The resolution passed with 13 votes in favor, while Russia and China abstained but did not use their veto power, according to AFP. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz described the decision as “historic and constructive.”
