Morocco’s capital is set to host the Confederation of African Football (CAF) 2025 Awards on Wednesday, bringing together some of the continent’s most prominent football stars.
CAF had earlier announced the shortlist of nominees for each award, with three players competing for the title of African Player of the Year: Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray.
The ceremony will see the attendance of numerous African football legends, including Mustapha Hadji, Gervinho, Rabah Madjer, Mohamed Sissoko, Idriss Kameni, Shikabala, Patrick Mboma, and Taribo West.
Women’s football icons will also be present, among them Janine van Wyk, Desiree Oparanozie, Clémentine Touré, and Bernadette Anong, highlighting the growing role of women in African football.
