Saudi Arabia and the United States signed a strategic framework agreement to enhance the security, stability, and sustainability of supply chains for uranium, metals, permanent magnets, and other critical minerals.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Saudi Arabia by Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, head of the Saudi side of the U.S.-Saudi Strategic Economic Partnership Committee, while U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum signed on behalf of the United States.
The signing coincides with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington and his meeting with President Donald Trump, aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries in the energy and critical resources sectors.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that the framework is intended to bolster the security, stability, and sustainability of vital supply chains, supporting both national economies and addressing global challenges.
